Dominique Strauss-Kahn Sues Over 'DSK' Sex Club

The former head of the International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Kahn plans a legal challenge to a Belgian sex club set to bear his initials “DSK”.

The “DSKlub” opens on Wednesday evening and, according to Belgian media, will employ six women and a transsexual and is the invention of Dominique Alderweireld, generally known as “Dodo La Saumure”, a play on words on the slang for a pimp.

Strauss-Kahn, commonly referred to as DSK, is a former French finance minister and was seen as a strong contender for France’s 2012 presidential election until a sexual assault case in New York in 2011, which was later dropped, brought his ambitions to a halt.

“Mr. Strauss-Kahn has announced that he will take all judicial measures necessary to end the damage to his name which results from this,” a statement by his Belgian lawyer said.

Alderweireld told Belgian media his club’s name was not meant as a reference to Strauss-Kahn, with the initials standing for “Dodo Sex Klub”.

Gerard Depardieu Skips Court for DSK Role

By Reuters

French film star Gerard Depardieu failed to show up in court to face drink driving charges on Tuesday because he was preparing to play disgraced former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn in a film, his lawyer said.

The no-show means the case will turn into a full trial - guaranteeing yet another day in the spotlight for the garrulous actor currently caught up in a scandal over his tax status.

It could also lead to the rotund, 64-year-old star of “Cyrano de Bergerac” and “Asterix and Obelix” getting a tougher sentence if convicted - in theory up to two years in prison.

“Despite wanting to be there and meet the judges and in no way to escape justice, Gerard Depardieu absolutely could not be present,” his lawyer Eric de Caumont told a throng of reporters outside the Paris courtroom.

He said his client was in Montenegro preparing to play Strauss-Kahn, who was seen as the next Socialist president of France before a U.S. sex scandal bought down his career last year.

Depardieu is accused of crashing his scooter in Paris with more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. No one else was injured in the accident.

Perhaps in an attempt to put her husband’s very public sexual assault scandal behind her, Anne Sinclair is throwing herself into her work. The former television journalist and wife of Dominque Strauss-Kahn has been named editor of the soon-to-be-launched French version of the Huffington Post.

Ariana Huffington herself will be on hand in Paris on January 23 to formally announce the launch of the news and opinion website, as well as Sinclair’s appointment.

By Nathan Burstein

If he’s getting bored under house arrest, accused sex offender Dominique Strauss-Kahn can at least look forward to receiving some Hebrew-language reading material.

The former head of the International Monetary Fund, who pleaded not guilty yesterday to sexually assaulting a maid in a New York City hotel, was the intended recipient of a package of “Hebrew books” sent by a group targeting Jews for conversion to Christianity.
