Raunchy comedy boy-band The Lonely Planet is releasing a new video every week until their new album, aptly named “The Whack Album,” is released on June 11. That’s six long-awaited opportunities for mid-week laughs.
The first such gem, “Spring Break Anthem” features Zach Galifianakis interviewing James Franco in for “Between Two Ferns,” before jumping off to a rap about, you guessed it, spring break.

Are we surprised that Dr. Ruth Westheimer, 84, jumped up out of her seat at a Q&A session following a screening of the movie “The Sessions” and demanded that actress Helen Hunt use contraceptives? Not at all. In fact, we would have been disappointed if she hadn’t. The film is about a sex surrogate, played by Hunt, who introduces a polio-stricken poet to the pleasures of sexual intimacy. “Every psychology class, anybody who has dealings with sexuality and education should see this film,” the famous sexologist said in giving the movie the Dr. Ruth seal of approval.
It was kind of hard to avoid hearing the news last week that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake got married in Italy. Among the guests (or kidnap victims, as some of the gossip media is putting it) at their destination wedding was funnyman Andy Samberg.
Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan spoke in front of an audience at the University of Tennessee last week. Sure, she talked law, but what really got people’s attention were her stories about hunting with fellow Justice Antonin Scalia. “I’m hoping to bag myself an antelope,” she shared.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told an audience at the University of Colorado Law School that she predicted that gay marriage would come before the Supreme Court this term.

American history buffs will be excited to know that Steven Spielberg has been invited to speak at Soldier’s National Cemetery as part of Dedication Day, an annual event honoring President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. It is no mere coincidence that Spielberg’s appearance at Gettysburg on November 19 falls in the same week that his new film, “Lincoln” is to be released nationwide.
Readers of yesterday’s Shmooze Celebrity Roundup know of the trouble Amanda Bynes is in. She, however, maintains she’s “doing amazing.” She denies drinking and driving and says she’s had it with acting in LA and is heading to New York to start a fashion design career. It is unclear whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was aware of the meeting before it took place. And all this time we thought Emanuel was dealing with nothing but the recently ended teacher’s strike in his city…
It looks like Ralph Lauren is finally acknowledging that plus-size women also deserve to buy into his fashion fantasy world. Robyn Lawley announced on “Good Morning America” that she has been chosen as the first plus-size model for Lauren’s brand and will star in its new campaign. We should note, however, that the plus-size Lawley is all of a size 12.

Hot on the heels of news that Tori Spelling was rushed to hospital for surgery for emergency post-cesarean section complications came word that she has sold her Malibu home for $2.3 million. She and her husband Dean McDermott have been living on the 1.73 acre property, which has a chicken coop, horse corral and organic garden and orchard, with their three children. It seems that with the arrival of their fourth in August, they need more room.
After seven seasons with Saturday Night Live, Digital Short darling and Jewish feminist Andy Samberg decided to leave the show earlier this summer. But Samberg fans shouldn’t fret. These are the lingering questions one has after watching a Funny of Die advertising spot cut by Andy Samberg, who also stars in “That’s My Boy.” The film is about a young teenage boy named Donny (Sandler) who fathers and raises his son Todd (Samberg) until Todd is 18. The immature, deadbeat dad later shows up on the eve of the successful son’s wedding, and all hell breaks loose.
This past Saturday night, SNL’s Andy Samberg scored an interview — or more like a series of interviews — with Drake, who was the musical guest for the show. It might have been a good conversation between a nice Jewish boy from Northern California and another from Toronto, but it wasn’t. How could it have been with the hilarious Samberg doing the questioning?
If you think you are going to learn something new or personal about Drake from this, you are going to be disappointed. But that’s okay. You’ll be laughing too hard to care.
