Rahm Emanuel, who resigned as the White House chief of staff on Friday in order to run for mayor of Chicago, received an unusual parting gift.
During a staff meeting in the White House’s Roosevelt Room on Friday morning, Council of Economic Advisers chair Austan Goolsbee handed Emanuel a dead Asian carp wrapped in copies of the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times.
The gift was an allusion to a past incident in which Emanuel sent a dead fish to a pollster with whom he was angry at.
