Researchers of Polish Jewry are set to gain online access to one million new documents following a new agreement signed by the Polish State Archives.

Under the agreement, signed on February 15, Jewish Records Indexing-Poland, an online database, will receive indices to more than one million documents from the Polish archives authority and then place them on the Jewish Records Indexing-Poland website within one year, a JRI-Poland statement from February 15 read.

JRI-Poland’s searchable online database currently has four million documents from more than 550 towns, starting from the late 18th century, according to the indexing body’s website.
