Seinfeld Stars To Reunite in Primetime

By Gabrielle Birkner

Television viewers will get a fresh dose of that distinctly Seinfeldian brand of kvetching this fall, when the four series’ stars reunite in “a multiple-episode story arc” on the HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Entertainment Weekly’s Hollywood Insider blog reports:

The cameos will mark the first time that all four actors have appeared together in a scripted TV show since Seinfeld went off the air nearly 11 years ago.No date has been set for this event, or for Curb’s seventh season, which will run for 10 weeks. Curb, of course, was created by and stars Larry David, the cocreator of Seinfeld.

The episodes, which are currently shooting in Los Angeles, appear to represent a continuation of David’s relationship with the Seinfeld stars. As Curb fans know, [Jerry] Seinfeld, [Julia] Louis-Dreyfus, and [Jason] Alexander have made individual appearances on the award-winning series over the years.

Neurotics of the World Unite!: Larry David To Star in Woody Allen’s Next Film

By Daniel Treiman

Entertainment Weekly reports:

Larry David, the mind behind Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, is set to be the lead in Woody Allen’s next, as-yet-untitled feature, which is scheduled to shoot in New York City in the spring. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but David will act alongside Evan Rachel Wood.

E.W. notes that the film will be a sort of homecoming for Allen, who shot his previous three movies in England and an upcoming one in Spain. But will Woody and Larry find that the New York that nurtured their neuroses no longer exists?

UPDATE: Evan Rachel Wood is also one of us.

Cheryl Hines Is a ‘Nation’

By Daniel Treiman

Heeb magazine “Goy Issue” cover-girl Cheryl Hines — who has been consistently brilliant playing Larry David’s non-Jewish wife on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” — confesses: “I’m still not even sure what [goy] means. But I’ve been called that for a while, since I started Curb. Honestly, I couldn’t give you a definition.”

Among the other revelations in Heeb’s profile of Hines: Her character on “Curb” was originally supposed to be Jewish, in real life Larry apparently doesn’t dig pig, Hines learned about Passover from coloring books she bought for Rob Reiner’s kids, and some folks in the actress’s hometown of Tallahassee apparently thought she was David’s wife in real life.

Hat tip: Brad Greenberg, who — Heeb take note — upends the Jew-goy dichotomy.
