It's not the first time this cartoonist has dabbled in ant-Semitism. In 2004, his joking about Jewish reactions to "The Passion of the Christ" earned him a strong rebuke from the ADL: http://www.adl.org/media_watch/newspapers/20040304-Hartford+Courant.htm.
And there's more here in Connecticut. A letter in todays's Hartford Courant compares Lieberman to,yes, Scrooge. It urges the senator to, " .... become the redeemed Scrooge of the book's end rather than the selfish, grasping miser of its beginning."
